The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Doha has called on all Ghanaian nationals living in Qatar to urgently register with the mission as part of ongoing emergency preparedness measures.
In a statement, the Embassy urged unregistered citizens to complete the process without delay, citing heightened tensions and unrest across the region.
According to the mission, the registration exercise is intended to strengthen communication with Ghanaians in Qatar and ensure timely assistance if circumstances require official intervention.
The Embassy noted an escalation of hostilities involving the United States, Israel and Iran, including reported joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran and subsequent retaliatory actions. The developments have reportedly led to missile and drone activity affecting several Gulf states, among them Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
“The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Doha hereby urges all Ghanaian nationals residing in the State of Qatar who have not registered to immediately do so, as part of ongoing emergency preparedness measures,” the statement said.
It explained that the registration would enable the mission to “effectively communicate with, assist, and, if necessary, coordinate evacuation arrangements for Ghanaian citizens.”
The directive applies to all Ghanaians in Qatar, including students, workers, families and visitors, who are required to complete an online registration form provided by the Embassy.
The mission assured that all information submitted will be treated with strict confidentiality and used solely for official emergency and consular purposes. It added that updates will continue to be shared through its official communication channels as the situation evolves.
