The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced an upward adjustment in the price of sachet water, citing rising production costs driven by global supply challenges.
In a statement issued on April 2, the association said the new pricing structure will take effect from Monday, April 6. According to NASPAWAP, the increase has been necessitated by a sharp rise in the cost of raw materials, particularly polymers used in sachet production.
The association attributed the surge in input costs to disruptions in international markets, including the ongoing conflict in Iran, which has affected the supply of key materials.
Under the revised pricing regime, the ex-factory price for a bag of 30 sachets (500ml each) has been set at GH¢8, while the ex-truck price will be GH¢10. The maximum retail price has also been pegged at GH¢15 per bag.
NASPAWAP has urged distributors, retailers, and consumers to adhere to the new pricing guidelines, noting that the adjustment is necessary to sustain production and ensure the continuous supply of safe drinking water across the country.
