A new survey by Global InfoAnalytics projects a commanding victory for National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Baba Jamal in the Ayawaso East by-election slated for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
The poll, conducted between February 28 and March 1 among 972 voters in the constituency, shows Baba Jamal securing 75 per cent of the projected vote. His main challenger, Baba Ali of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is forecast to obtain 21 per cent.
Independent candidate Umaru Sanda Muhammed, who recently left the NDC, is tipped to secure about 3 per cent, while Ibrahim Iddrisu and David are each projected to poll less than one per cent, underscoring a contest dominated by the two major parties.
The by-election was triggered by the death of the sitting Member of Parliament, Mahama Naser Toure, who passed away in January while receiving treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
